The Position
We are looking for a motivated Scientist to work at the Genetics & Genomics Laboratory in the Translational Technologies and Bioinformatics (TTB) department of Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). Working in close collaboration with scientists in the Inflammation and Infectious disease areas, as well as statisticians and bioinformatics specialists, the team performs project specific genetics and genomics analyses for the discovery and assessment of new targets and biomarkers, monitoring drug effects, as well as elucidating the mechanisms behind diseases.

  • Delivering high quality genetics and genomics support for experimental design, analysis, and scientific interpretation of data
  • Collaborating closely with the Inflammation and Infectious Diseases departments to understand their priorities and ensure alignment and efficient delivery of projects
  • Providing expertise in genomic technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing
  • Collaborating closely with Biostatistics and Bioinformatics to ensure best data analysis for all projects
  • Evaluating new technologies in alignment with the global Genetics & Genomics group

You have a PhD in Natural Sciences with at least 3 years of working experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or equivalent experience.

  • A strong background in Genetics and Genomics technologies
  • Expertise in Next Generation Sequencing technologies as well as deep understanding of immunology
  • A good understanding of the pharmaceutical research processes and are able to develop new ideas
  • A keen interest in applying technology to foster innovative R&D, to guide Personalized Healthcare Solutions (PHC), and are willing to take responsibility and accountability
  • Ideally you possess a high level of initiative and are able to work effectively in a highly networked global environment
  • You are motivated to work in interdisciplinary, multi-national teams
  • Fluency in English and good presentation skills
