We seek to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Liver Sciences Section, Division of Transplantation and Mucosal Immunity, King’s College London, to work on a 2-year project aimed at elucidating the role of iron homeostasis in the regulation of alloimmune responses and in the development of immune tolerance.
The post holder will assist Head of Liver Sciences in developing animal models of liver inflammation and in establishing in vitro systems to test the immunogenicity of liver cells. In addition, the post holder is also expected to investigate the role of human liver tissue miRNAs in the regulation of intra-hepatic immune responses in liver transplantation.
The post will be based at the Institute of Liver Studies, Denmark Hill Campus; however, it may require travelling between intra-sites of the college as per the requirement of the research project.
We are looking for a highly motivated, hard working scientist who can work independently but also interact creatively within the team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of conceptual and methodological familiarity with cellular immunology, particularly tolerance and immune regulation. S/he will have a PhD in Immunology subject and publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals.
