The main focus of our translational research group (Prof. Dr. Danilo Fliser / Dr. Dr. Timo Speer) is to study the interaction between lipoproteins and the innate immune system with a special focus on patients with cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease (Speer et al. Immunity 2013; Speer et al. Eur Heart J 2014; Shroff et al. J Am Soc Nephrol 2014, Zewinger et al. J Am Soc Nephrol 2014; Zewinger et al. Eur Heart J 2015).
To strengthen our team we are looking for a talented young scientist with a high potential to become an outstanding independent researcher. The position offers the opportunity for career development. Strong expertise in cell culture, molecular biology and imaging techniques,* flow cytometry* and* animal techniques* is mandatory.
The candidate will be involved into several projects of our group and should be able to work efficiently in a well-organized research environment. Moreover, the personality of the applicant should qualify her/him to instruct and guide medical students, PhD students and technicians. We expect the candidate to be involved into research grant preparations and manuscript writing. Good written/oral communication skills in English are mandatory (German language skills would be beneficial but not necessary). The applicant should have a proven scientific track record with publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
