We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioinformatician to lead the analysis of novel high throughput sequencing datasets at the world-leading Roslin Institute in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will analyse data produced using a novel sequencing approach to characterise germline mutation rates in livestock species.
Applicants with a background in any relevant field are welcome (including bioinformatics, statistics and computer science) but bioinformatics experience in handling high throughput sequencing data will be a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong programming skills in one or more relevant language such as Python, Perl or R.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to join an established bioinformatics program and analyse and publish completely novel sequencing datasets. This post is for maternity cover and is for a period of 12 months.
