The breadth of research carried out within the Faculty allows us to apply our strengths in fundamental biological research to grand challenge areas in biomedicine and health and sustainable agriculture.
Current researchers collaborate with colleagues across the University, for example, Chemistry, Physics, Food Science, Geography, Earth and Environment, Mechanical Engineering and Medicine and Health. We are keen to attract Fellows in any Faculty research area with the potential to strengthen and increase interdisciplinary research. Our research themes include Structural Molecular Biology; Cardiovascular, Sport and Exercise Sciences; Virology; Ecology and Evolution, Integrative Membrane Biology; Heredity, Development and Disease; Neuroscience; Biomedical Engineering; Plant Sciences.
A proven record of achievement in international quality publications is essential to contribute to the University’s ambition to excel at REF2020. You will align yourself with the University and Faculty strategy including the development of a vibrant and sustained research portfolio. You will co-supervise PhD students. You would also be expected to submit grant applications for a personal fellowship and small individual or networking research grants as well as work with colleagues across the schools to submit larger grants.
