Job Title: Research Assistant – Molecular Biology

IONTAS is a biotechnology company focussed on the development of novel antibody therapeutics in the areas of cancer and inflammation. We use phage display and innovative technology to accelerate all aspects of antibody drug discovery from target selection through to the generation of human antibody drug candidates. Since commencing operations in 2012, IONTAS has partnered with 9 USA and European biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on multiple antibody discovery projects. IONTAS cultivates a dynamic, innovative environment resulting in several recent patent filings.

An opportunity has arisen for a research assistant to join the company to play a key role in antibody lead isolation and optimisation. This role will involve antibody phage display selection, high-throughput cloning, antibody screening by ELISA or HTRF, sequence analysis, expression of antibodies in E. coli and mammalian cells and affinity purification.

Applicants will possess a BSc with relevant laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.

Experience of the following areas/techniques would be an advantage:
• phage display and antibody engineering
• plate based ELISA and HTRF assays
• protein expression in E. coli and mammalian cells
• protein purification using batch or chromatography methods

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment are pre-requisites for this role. The successful candidate will be expected to have good time management skills and ability to maintain accurate records of all experimental work.
