Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN), John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford
We are looking to recruit a Research Scientist who can work independently to implement a research study funded by the Dunhill Medical Trust. Although the work will be within Dr Kyle Pattinson’s research group, there are close links with the FMRIB Centre and the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit.
Your duties will include running a human brain imaging study investigating drug manipulation of pulmonary rehabilitation for the treatment of breathlessness in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The current post is for a fixed-term of 2 years, for which the main focus of work is human imaging.
We are looking for an individual with experience of MRI acquisition and analysis, who would be comfortable working with NHS patients. An excellent undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. neuroscience, biology etc.) and the ability to manage the day-to-day running of a research project is essential. A background in psychology or physiology would be helpful.
The post is full-time for a fixed-term of 2 years in the first instance.
Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Thursday 29 September 2016 will be considered. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
