Postdoctoral Scientist – Structural Studies
Starting Salary £28,007 to £30,791 per annum
Band Salary £27,355 to £32,648 per annum
An opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Scientist to work on the factors required to assemble dyneins in the ciliary axoneme. The project aims to identify dynein assembly factors required to fold and assemble outer arm dyneins and transport them into the cilia. Structural and biochemical studies will be used to understand the molecular basis of their function.
You should have a PhD in a relevant biological subject and a desire to understand how dynein assembly factors work. Experience is required in the fields of dynein assembly factors and proteomics.
The successful applicant will be awarded a three-year Career Development Fellowship / MRC Post-Doctoral Training Scheme. This is a training and development position for a post-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills.
