Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science

Off

Sheffield Hallam University - Department of Biosciences and Chemistry

Faculty of Health and Wellbeing

The Department of Biosciences and Chemistry provides vocationally focussed courses in applied biological and chemical sciences - all delivered in a supportive, research informed environment.

We are looking for someone to teach across our degrees, particularly on our accredited biomedical science courses. Your main focus will be teaching first and second year students, improving their laboratory skills and supporting their professional and academic development through practical classes and tutorials. Other aspects of your role will include supporting employability by visiting students on placement and supervising projects and dissertations.

We are especially keen to hear from you if you have the knowledge and ability to teach a wide range of relevant methods including bioanalytical techniques, microbiology and immunology.

You will have a commitment to delivering an excellent student experience, as well as a doctorate and some higher education teaching experience. Evidence of research and scholarship is also vital, and you’ll be expected to contribute to research as part of a multi-disciplinary team, so we’re also looking for a team player who is committed to establishing good working relationships.

Ideally you will also have significant experience of module leadership and curriculum design, although this is not essential.

Closing date: 16/12/15 at 23.30pm
