YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for leading a team of medical/pharmacodynamics experts and biomarker
strategists for the early clinical phase of GT/CMR projects

• In charge of developing experimental medicine plans for each project in the early stage of
the clinical development

• Build and lead a highly qualified team of dedicated experts for experimental medicine and
biomarker approaches

• Development of a disease and mechanism specific personalized medicine strategy

• Interact with the Biomarker Research & Pharmacometrics Groups to define the best use of
biomarkers for the therapeutic area

• Ensure optimal utilization of resources and appropriate strategies to make decisions on
programs in a timely and cost effective way

• Collaborate with representatives and other functions to optimize the output and value of the
therapeutic area GT/CMR

• Take a leadership role in defining the future needs of the therapeutic area GT/CMR through
an intimate knowledge of the drug discovery programs

• Build and grow a center of disease knowledge in the relevant indications/therapeutic areas

• Participate in review and licensing committees and provide strategic licensing input

• Present the GT/CMR therapeutic areas externally and build a network of key opinion leaders
to support the GT/CMR development projects of the company

• Serve as a core member (m/f) of the Clinical Sciences, R&D and BU Therapeutic leadership
teams

WHO YOU ARE

• MD or MD/PhD with a strong scientific background in a relevant discipline and with
in-depth experience in experimental/translational medicine

• Expertise in drug development and a strong track record of accomplishments in
translational drug discovery

• Industry experience in applications of basic research and/or clinical sciences

• Long-term experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry, ideally across all phases of clinical development

• Proven successful leadership of a high performance team is a must

• Experience from both small and large molecules R&D preferred

• Ability to comprehend and interpret clinical data and relate them to the clinical setting

• Proven understanding of the complexities of clinical development and especially of the translational phase from discovery to proof of concept

• Fluent in English both written and spoken, a second language will be an advantage
