Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization (FISH) diagnostic tests for infectious diseases

ID-FISH Technology Inc. (, based in Palo Alto, CA, USA is a pioneer in the Biotechnology Industry dedicated to the development of high quality, simple, rapid, and inexpensive diagnostic test kits for the detection of infectious diseases worldwide (e.g. malaria and tuberculosis) using Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) technology.

ID-FISH have developed tests that utilise a standard laboratory microscope for differentially detecting all four Plasmodium species (P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale & P. malariae) that cause human malaria. A FISH test that specifically detects P. knowlesi, a monkey malaria parasite that is transmitted to humans in South East Asia to cause severe disease, has also been developed. This is important because P. knowlesi can only otherwise be identified through a complex PCR method and not by microscopic examination of Giemsa stained blood smears. ID-FISH have also developed tests for tuberculosis, babesiosis, bartenellosis, Lyme disease, etc. to aid medical and veterinary medical diagnoses. Please contact or telephone +1-650.543.2641 for further information on these diagnostic tests.
