The University of East London is a dynamic university in the heart of Europe’s largest regeneration area. The University is known for its commitment to civic engagement and is an anchor university in East London. UEL is a top modern university for research in the most recent REF 2014 exercise where it doubled its world class research. The School of Health, Sport and Bioscience featured prominently in our most recent REF submission.
The School of Health, Sport and Bioscience is one of the largest Schools at UEL. It recently received HEFCE funding to develop its lab space at our Stratford campus. The School is now looking to expand its health provision in some very exciting areas. UEL is already well known for its work in public health and health studies, but the School will also be developing a fuller range of Professional programmes within the areas of Nursing and Social Care. We are seeking an academic leader with exceptional business acumen who can lead on developing our Nursing programmes while also building on the success of the School in its key areas of health, sport science and bioscience.
The new Dean will lead this important and successful School through its next stage of development. We need a Dean who can combine successful management and leadership with a strong track record in delivering innovative programmes and student success. Your ability to engage key stakeholders and successfully develop new business opportunities will be of paramount importance, as will your ability to oversee multiple projects and teams in the process of delivering new programmes that will further enhance UEL’s reputation.
