Job description:
The NIMBE (Nanosciences and Innovation for Materials, Biomedicine and Energy) department is opening a position for electrochemistry expertise and research in the frame of materials for energy research. Keys of progress in this field are related to material nanostructuration, the use of charge carriers other than Li in the case of batteries, together with the development of solid and extended life electrolytes. All these paths require a deep understanding of involved electrochemical mechanisms and nanostructure behaviors.
A wide range of characterization techniques is available within the NIMBE department or in the Paris Saclay University area to which NIMBE is strongly associated. These techniques include electrochemistry techniques, microscopic scale light element monitoring using Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) techniques, X-ray and neutron diffraction techniques, EXAFS, XPS and small angle diffusion available at the SOLEIL synchrotron facility.
The successful candidate will have to propose innovative nanostructured materials and investigate their electrochemical and durability performances. It will be applied to battery anodes associated to multivalent charge carriers in order to produce a major step toward very high capacity batteries. As a complementary duty, the successful candidate will contribute to prospective projects regarding all solid-state batteries.
Qualification
Candidates should hold a solid-state chemistry PhD and at least one year of postdoctoral research experience and recognized as a junior expert in electrochemistry and interfacial conduction processes. A good knowledge in structural and spectroscopic characterization techniques is required. Candidates who are familiar with synthesis techniques and functionalization will be appreciated.
Offer
The candidate is offered a permanent position within the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission). Salary will depend on the candidate records.
About the organization
NIMBE department is a joint laboratory including researchers and technical staff from CEA and CNRS, two major French public organizations involved in research. NIMBE is part of IRAMIS institute located at CEA/Saclay (approximately 30 km from Paris).
Apply
To apply please send a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, publication records, a research project proposal, and two names of references, all before 31-7-2015 to hicham.khodja@cea.fr.
Selected candidates will be interviewed in next September….
