An NIH– funded postdoctoral position to develop novel neuroprotective approaches in diabetes and hypoglycemia is currently available within the Section of Endocrinology at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Qualified applicants will have an M.D. degree, a medical license and must hold U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated M.D. that will join our translational research program investigating brain metabolism and cognition in diabetic patients under different glycemic conditions. The candidate has at least 2-4 years of postdoctoral experience and must be familiar with regulatory requirements surrounding human investigation and has demonstrated experience with hyperinsulinemic clamps and neurocognitive testing. Familiarity with basic and translational laboratory methodologies such as Western blotting and molecular biology, experimental planning and statistical analysis is very important, as are excellent written and oral communication skills.
